Stefano Arduini architetto

Stefano was born in 1976 in Sesto San Giovanni, in the metropolitan city of Milan. He obtained a master’s degree in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, where he graduated with full marks in 2003, after completion of an urban scale design thesis with title “Piacenza: a New Role for the Fortress-City. Project of an Integrated District for Cultural Events, Education and Exhibition in the Town Walls Park”, supervised by Prof. Guido Canella and Prof. Pellegrino Bonaretti. Since 2004 he is enrolled in the Italian Register of Architects.

After graduation, Stefano started working with Prof. Marco Dezzi Bardeschi on several projects in the context of the conservation and adaptive reuse of the Porta Borghetto’s bastion in Piacenza and the castle of Saluzzo (CN). Passionate about photography, he realized photographic studies of various pre-existing works from Prof. Dezzi Bardeschi, several of which were published in trade magazines such as ‘L’Architettura Cronache e Storia’ and ‘Costruire in Laterizio’. In that period, he also worked with Prof. Giovanni Luca Ferreri and other architecture firms in Milan. These collaborations resulted in numerous projects both in Italy and abroad, for instance the renovation of historic buildings in Asmara and Massawa, Eritrea.

From July 2004, combining his own work and participation in design competitions, he developed a solid professional collaboration with architect Gianluca Volpi’s firm, located in via Ariosto 21, Milan. Throughout the fruitful collaboration with Volpi’s firm, he participated in the design of commercial, business and industrial interventions (particularly in the context of buildings related to the automotive sector, such as car showrooms, business offices, vehicle assistance workshops and logistics hubs) as well as residential interventions of all-scale, from the renovation of residential apartments to the construction of new buildings and complexes. During this period, Stefano participated with increasing responsibilities both in the design activities at every level and in all the professional activities related to it, such as the building permits application, relations with public administration, consultancy and project management.

After Volpi’s retirement in 2017, Stefano established his own firm in via Spontini 3, providing continuity with the work of Volpi, and developing new projects and collaborations, always founded on the centrality of design and on the provision of high quality professional services.

The firm’s activity grows, including fruitful collaborations with operators and other professionals, towards highly complex projects, both residential and non-residential. In these projects architectural quality is always combined with the demands of the market and with careful analysis of the town planning legislation. At the same time, he continues the activity for private customers, at every scale of intervention, and he continues his own design and creative research, also engaging in design competitions.
